Our Mission

Dancers with Cancer is a non-profit organization set up to help heal those afflicted with cancer and other debilitating diseases through the art of dance therapy, as well as raise funding through the arts to support orphan cancer research and serve underprivileged children with cancer.

Dancers With Cancer was started by Elizabeth Maria Walsh, who passed away on August 28th, 2014 after fighting stage IV Adrenal Cortical Cancer for two and a half years. Elizabeth was an inspirational soul who gave everyone the courage to follow their hearts and fight to fulfill their dreams.

She began a blog called The bELIeve Campaign, which was created to inspire belief in anyone who needed a smile. She lived by the quote, “Never give up. Always believe in yourself.”  While battling with her illness, one thing that allowed her to forget about her hardships was dancing.  Growing up as a dancer, she was always passionate about the arts and found that it helped her with the struggles of cancer.  Dancers with Cancer was an organization Elizabeth was working on as she passed. Her family and friends have made the commitment to continue what she started.  The organization’s goal is to heal through the art of dance therapy.

How you can help

You can help Dancers With Cancer by donating through PayPal, and by spreading the word through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Together, we can make Elizabeth's dream a reality, and provide every patient the gift of dance therapy.
